NOT YOUR MAMA’S MASTERING SUITE
Our San Diego mastering suite is outfitted for critical listening with an emphasis on presenting an excellent low-frequency response. With full-spectrum passive acoustic treatment based on the space’s architecture, the suite maintains both a favorable frequency and time domain response. Combined with active bass management technology from PSI and industry-leading digital acoustic correction from Trinnov, we are able to finish records in a precision listening environment — a space that is pleasant, but quite revealing. Our studio houses a set of Ex Machina Quasar Mk II monitors mounted within an ASC Attack Wall behind a Sterling Modular console.
The mastering suite also hosts a wide selection of analog mastering equipment that boasts industry-leading performance and transparency to ensure that mixes and stems are treated with the care that they deserve. With 64 analog outputs and several analog summing mixers on hand, Rose Quartz Mastering is one of the few studios in the world capable of offering analog stem mastering or summing for up to 32 stereo stems at such a high standard of fidelity. Each analog (and digital) connection in the studio is made via Mogami Gold or Platinum. In addition to our carefully crafted analog signal chain, we have a suite of digital options in the form of plug-ins and software programs.

Mastering and final sequencing happens in REAPER or Wavelab 13 while quality control, spectral editing, resampling, dithering, etc. happens in Izotope RX 12.
Plugins on-call are by DMG, Weiss, Tone Projects, Oeksound, Acustica, Softube, Sonnox, Tokyo Dawn Labs, Fabfilter, Metric Halo… and too many more to name.
Reference Masters are delivered conveniently via Samply while Production Masters are delivered via Dropbox.
